Robinson Avenue reopen in Grovetown after flash flooding

UPDATE (12:00am) – Robinson Ave. has reopened at Selkirk Way in Grovetown. The Department of Transportation says repairs to the area progressed rapidly after flash flooding washed away part of the road, allowing it to be reopened earlier than expected.

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WJBF) — East Robinson Avenue in Grovetown is closed at Selkirk Way, near Gate 2 of Fort Gordon, due to earlier flooding. The Georgia Department of Transportation says flood waters washed out the roadway leaving it impassable to thru traffic.

The DOT says it will take at least eight hours to prepare the road to re-open, meaning it will remain closed until 6 or 7 o’clock Tuesday morning at the earliest.
