AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – A new 9-hole practice facility is going to build-up and inspire local golfers.
The 60 acre facility will become the permanent home of the 1st Tee of Aiken.
The U.S.C. Aiken golf team will also use it as a place to practice their game, as well as a means for the institution to recruit more golfers.
“The cost for creating a home for both the U.S.C. Aiken Golf Team and the First Tee of Aiken is approximately $3.17 million dollars,” said Chancellor Dr. Sandra Jordan. “The cost associated with the practice facility will have absolutely no impact on tuition since we are raising the money.”
P.G.A. Professionals Scott Brown and Kevin Kisner have joined the initiative as Honorary Co-Chairs of the project.
