AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – The Aiken County Animal Shelter is once again at full capacity and will host a special event this weekend to help find forever homes for the animals there.
The “Caturday” event will be held this Saturday, August 27th. Cats and kittens will be available for the special low adoption rate of $15, which includes spaying and neutering, all vaccines and microchipping. In addition, those who adopt a cat or kitten will also receive a free cat carrier and free cat food during the event.
Officials at the animal shelter say they’ve been flooded with strays and surrendered animals over the last two weeks, including more than 150 this week alone) resulting in the shelter once again reaching full capacity just a few weeks after a successful “Clear The Shelter” event.
“We have so many wonderful dogs and cats at the shelter that need homes right now,” said Jennifer Miller, President of Friends Of The Animal Shelter. “Please come by ifi you are thinking about adding a furry companion to your life.”
The event will also feature refreshments and optional photo opportunities for adopters and their new pets.
The “Caturday” event will take place Saturday, August 27th, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Aiken County Animal Shelter on Wire Road in Aiken.
