AUGUSTA, GA (7:35am) The Central Savannah River Area will see Hermine’s heaviest action starting mid-morning and lasting throughout the afternoon.
The NewsChannel 6 weather team reports the greater Augusta-Aiken area will start seeing the heaviest rainfall and winds starting around 10am Friday morning. According to Meteorologist Kevin Niewood, the CSRA will feel the effects of Hermine with Tropical Storm force winds and gusts up to 55mph. This is also the time the NewsChannel 6 area will start seeing the heaviest amounts of rainfall with some localized flooding in flood prone areas. The heaviest weather activity will be felt until about 5:00 tonight and the system is expected to move out of the CSRA sometime around 11:00pm tonight. Please use extreme caution while driving during this time frame when we are expected to see heaviest weather effects.
