AUGUSTA, GA- The coastal areas of Georgia are starting to see major power outages due to Hermine.
According to Georgia Power there are power outages reported across the southern part of the Peach State. According to the outage map provided by Georgia Power, the highest number of outages are being reported in Valdosta (Lowndes County). There are currently 14,000 people without power. In Brunswick, GA (Glynn County) more than 13,000 people have lost electric service. About 4400 people in Waycross (Ware County) are currently without power and about 8500 people in Savannah (Chatham County) are without power.
According to the Electric Cooperatives in South Carolina, the most power outages are being reporting in the Myrtle Beach, SC (Horry County) area. The number of outages in the low country is expected to increase as Hermine continues to move through the Georgia-South Carolina coastal regions.
