AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Salvation Army of Augusta’s facilities will remain open on Friday to provide individuals and families with shelter from the heavy rains and winds brought on by Tropical Storm Hermine.
The Center of Hope shelter, located on Greene Street, will stay open as a day shelter through dinner, tonight.
Women and children younger than school age will be allowed to remain in the building all day.
Transient men will be allowed to stay in the lodge after breakfast.
All individuals will receive breakfast, lunch and dinner.
This plan could extend through Saturday morning, pending weather conditions.
The Kroc Center of Augusta, located on Broad Street, will be open to the public until 5 p.m. on Friday.
Family friendly movies will be playing in the chapel until closing.
