Augusta, GA — Congressman Jody Hice of Georgia’s 10th District made a stop by The Means Report before heading back to Washington, DC for the next session. The congressman covered a host of topics which are facing Georgia as well as our nation during his visit.
One area of focus that Congressman Hice is extremely proud of is his work on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. The committee, as the congressman explains, is working hard to make sure that federal agencies don’t spiral out of control. To date the committee has called for the removal of approximately 23 department heads due to corruption and unethical practices; 20 of those department heads have been successfully removed. Congressman Hice also discusses the need for tax reform in this country and shares that he believes there is a better way than the IRS.
National security is another hot topic that Brad Means discusses with Congressman Hice who divulges that he believes the world is getting “more and more dangerous all the time”. He notes that since 2014 there have been over 70 ISIS attacks on 20 different countries. Those attacks have killed over 1,200 people while injuring another 1,700.
Congressman Hice also discusses care for our veterans, education, and the role Fort Gordon is playing in the war on terror.
