Georgia Jobless Rate Takes Dip

Georgia’s unemployment rate fell to 4.9 percent in August, down from 5.6 percent a year ago.
According to State Labor Commissioner, this marks the first time in nine years that Georgia’s jobless rate has been as low as the national rate.
In July 2007, the Georgia rate was 4.6 percent while the national unemployment rate was 4.7 percent.
