CHEROKEE CO., SC (WSPA) – The escaped Spartanburg Co. inmate, Blake Rochester, 25, has been captured according to Cherokee Co. Sheriff Mueller.

GAFFNEY, S.C. (AP) – Authorities say an inmate who escaped from a minimum security prison in Spartanburg may now have a gun.

The Corrections Department said 25-year-old Blake Rochester left the Livesay Correctional Institution Tuesday morning.

Investigators say a woman was carjacked in Spartanburg at about the same time.

Cherokee County Sheriff Steve Mueller told media outlets it appears someone buried the gun just outside the prison and Rochester dug it up.
