AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – With more people in the CSRA, local officers are working overtime to keep everyone safe.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety is increasing their patrols at local shelters and all hotels in the City of Aiken.

Public Safety Officers are making extra rounds in hotel parking lots to prevent cars from getting broken into.

“As always we do recommend if you have valuables in your vehicle take them with you,” said Aiken Department of Public Safety Lt. Jake Mahoney. “Lock your car, take your keys with you and if you can’t remove your valuable… at least hide them so they are not easily recognizable.”

The Aiken Department of Public Safety is preparing for more traffic to come into the area within the next 24 to 48 hours.
