AT&T waiving overage charges for those affected by hurricane

FILE - In this May 14, 2014 file photo, an AT&T logo is displayed on a store in Dedham, Mass. AT&T will no longer offer discounted phones with two-year contracts starting Jan. 8, 2016. Before you rush out to beat the deadline, consider that you might be better off paying full price for the phone. That’s because phone companies also reduce the monthly bill for voice, text and data services when you buy your own phone or bring a used one. (AP Photo/Steven Senne, File)

(WJBF) – AT&T will be waiving all overage charges for evacuees and other people affected by Hurricane Matthew.

This is primarily for customers in Florida and Georgia.

  • Talk, text, and data usage from October 6th to the 9th will not result in overage charges for post-paid customers.
  • For AT&T GoPhone customers, we’ll extend their payment date for voice and text service from Oct. 7 through Oct. 9.
  • Cricket Wireless will not suspend customers for late payments from Oct. 7 through Oct. 9.
