Aiken County residents donate supplies and volunteer time to help evacuees

AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – Aiken County citizens are donating more than just supplies to evacuees.

A group of women spent their Saturday folding towels and separating diapers at South Aiken High School.

The members of Four Mile Baptist Church say they wanted to volunteer their time and help the people at the shelter in any way possible.

“We’re blessed on this end that we’re not displaced,” said Kimberly Good. “We have our homes. So, we decided just to help someone who doesn’t know what they are going to be faced with, when they get back home.”

Many members of the church also donated supplies that were dropped off at the high school.
