ALLENDALE COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – The storm has really picked up overnight, and it’s brought reports of trees down and power outages across the CSRA. And one of the hardest hit areas is Allendale County, South Carolina.
As of 7 a.m., Allendale is currently under a flash flood warning as well as a tropical storm warning.
They are experiencing about 3-4 inches of rain and could see up to 5-6 inches.
There are sustained winds at about 25-35 MPH and a wind gust of 50 MPH.
We advise that at this time if you can stay indoors it would be wise seeing as there could be potential flooding in some of the low lying areas.
The potential flooding of streets and highways could cause for dangerous travel on the roads.
Also due to the heavy rain you have saturated soil and when you mix that with high winds you have the potential for many trees to fall in the area and with down trees comes down power lines and power outages, so again be mindful of the weather conditions.
As we continue to track Hurricane Matthew we’ll keep you updated with the latest information.
