AUGUSTA,Ga (WJBF) A study is charting a new course for Augusta’s public transit.
Consultants going over the city routes and talking to riders to see if the city is providing the proper service.
Rider surveyed telling consultants they want three things.
Buses running later, running longer on weekends, and going to areas like south Augusta where there’s currently no bus service.
” This study what we want to do is look at where our service is productive where it’s not productive those areas that are not productive we’ll end up shifting that over but right now exactly how we’re going to redesign the system or what ever will come at the conclusions of the study,” said Transit Director Pat Stephens.
The 115 thousand dollar survey is scheduled to be completed next May.
