Calhoun Expressway driver dies after hitting a tree

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – One man is dead after a car crash on Calhoun Expressway.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. A report from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says witnesses saw the driver, 57-year-old Boyce Williams of Augusta, take the off ramp to Crawford Avenue, run a stop sign and hit a tree.

No other cars were involved and Williams was the only one in his car–a gray 1996 Saturn.

Williams was taken to Augusta University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
