Four students shot at San Francisco high school


SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Four students have been shot at a high school in San Francisco’s Excelsior District Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting was reported at June Jordan School for Equity around 3:15 p.m, according to police.

Gunshots were fired shortly after school got out.

Police say a teenage girl who was shot may have been the target.

Three out of the four people shot ran into the school after being shot.

san-fran-school-shootingOfficers searched the school first to make sure the shooters weren’t there and then took the three victims to the hospital.

Another victim walked into the Bayview police station. He was then taken to the hospital shortly afterwards.

The teenage girl is in critical condition after being shot in the upper body and the three teenage boys shot have non-life threatening injuries.

The school district says this is an isolated incident.

“There were four perpetrators who were targeting a particular individual, who suffered injuries and is being cared for,” said Karwin Sui of the San Francisco Unified School District.”Two other bystanders also suffered injuries.”

The school immediately went on lockout, but was lifted around 4:03 p.m.

A shelter was in place while officers were searching for the four suspects.

Police were telling people to avoid the area.

SFUSD officials are working closely with police as they investigate the shooting.

Officials say the school will be open Wednesday morning.

Officers are still searching for the four suspects.

Police describe the suspects as wearing dark hoodies and dark jeans.
