AUGUST,Ga (WJBF)A major Augusta water project is seeing a huge jump in the cost.
The 13 million dollar, Turbine, pump an operations building project at the Pumping Station has seen its share of troubles.
The construction site flooded four times this year.
There were also serious problems with the foundation that needed to be reinforced.
All of this is adding up to a nine month delay and is increasing the cost by more than -one point one- -million dollars.-
“We don’t have basically any choice in this we have to we’ve got to go ahead and finish the project the turbine is sitting there the pump is sitting there I really don’t have a choice,” said Utilities Department Director Tom Wiedmeier.

“It is a lot of money,” said Wiedmeier.
The Commission Engineering Committee is schedule to take up the contract change order on Tuesday.
Wiedmeier says he’s has e-mailed all commissioners and the mayor to let them know in advance what’s coming.
