AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – Aiken County residents have a chance to voice their concerns about Whiskey Road to leaders at a public forum on Wednesday night.
The meeting is part of a comprehensive study to determine what needs to be improved on the corridor.
Many new businesses are popping up on Whiskey Road and Aiken City, County, and New Ellenton leaders feel making the road safer is long overdue.
“Just that we understand the importance of why we need to improve Whiskey Road,” Aiken County District 7 Council member Andrew Siders said. “That road has been unchanged for many, many years and it’s grown. Aiken has grown. The amount of traffic has grown on that road so much and we just need to take a long look at how we improve it for the future.”
That meeting is taking place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Aiken Municipal Building at 214 Park Avenue.
If you can’t make it more public forums are being planned for later dates.
