COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – A student at South Columbia Elementary School was taken in and charged with bringing a weapon onto school grounds on Wednesday.
The school’s principal was informed by a parent that a student had knife on the school bus, earlier in the week.
The 11-year-old student was brought into the principal’s office where he admitted to having the knife and still had it in his possession.
He also admitted to having a firearm in his possession at that time.
Both weapons were turned over to the principal.
Investigators say the student used the knife to damage a number of seats on the school bus.
The student was taken in to juvenile court where he and his grandmother met with a judge who ordered a psychological evaluation before the student could be booked.
