AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Georgia War Veterans Nursing home in downtown Augusta held a special ceremony in honor of all who served our great country.
The color guard hoisted the American flag and the Army band played the National Anthem.
Local dignitaries were there including Congressman Rick Allen and Augusta Mayor Hardie Davis.
The guest speaker was Colonel Robert Holmes offered this advice to all of us.
“I hope everyone takes a moment and appreciated someone in their life that served and provided them with the freedom that they have today,” said Col. Holmes.
The Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, where this event was held, provides continuous professional nursing care to veterans of Georgia who have served in the armed forces during war times.
