Aiken County allocates funds for local non-profits in 2017 budget

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – More than $750,000 dollars have been allocated for non-profits in Aiken County.

Money has been set aside in next-years fiscal budget to ensure local organizations continue giving back to the community.

More than half a dozen groups get funding including the Golden Harvest food bank and the Aiken County help line.

“They all do a really good job of managing the funds,” said Aiken County Councilman Andrew Siders. “So we are really happy with that. We hope they are very successful of course because we don’t want the money to go to waste.”

County leaders say this is included in the budget every year and the agencies are required to submit a financial report to the county.
