Some special needs students at a local school got a chance to put on the aprons and cook for themselves recently.
The team from “The Very Vera Show” was at Immaculate Conception Catholic School on November 11th, teaching students how to measure, cut, dice and bake.
The school’s principal, Allison Paffy, said the students love the attention they get, and Vera Stewart and her crew have a great time, too.
“Our special needs program is very unique here at the school, in that we have students from severe disabilities all the way to mild disabilities,” said Paffy, “And Vera loves to come and be with the kids and her helpers do, too. They’re wonderful with our students here. They’re actually like little mothers with them.”
