BARNWELL, S.C. (WJBF) — The Barnwell Warhorses travel to play at Woodland (7-4) in the second round of the SCHSL 2A playoffs on Friday night.
Barnwell (10-1) is having a tremendous season under second-year head coach Dwayne Garrick.
“[I’m] really excited,” Barnwell senior offensive lineman Marcus McKethan said. “It’s the first time making it this deep in the playoffs and we’ve had a really good season so far.”
The Warhorses are seeking their first quarterfinal appearance since 2005.
“It would mean a lot,” senior safety Derin Hammon said. “We’ve been talking about it all season. It would be nice to make it happen.”
Coach Garrick added, “We came here to build a program, so it’s big for our seniors, but especially big for our young kids because they’ll know about the taste of success and then we can get this thing rolling.”
The game between the Warhorses and Wolverines is set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
