Augusta Commissioners to discuss changing laws allowing more breweries downtown

Augusta, Ga. (WJBF) – Monday, Augusta commissioners are expected to discuss changes when it comes to the growing business of making craft beer and other alcohols in the Garden City.

Some city leaders say they believe Broad Street could be an attractive location for someone wanting to open a micro brewery or distillery.

Currently, city zoning laws only allow these types of businesses in industrial areas which would rule out downtown Augusta.
