AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – Holiday toy collections are underway in Aiken County.
On Monday, the Salvation Army began accepting donations for nearly 500 families needing Christmas assistance this year.
Volunteers will be at the collection center Monday through Friday until December 16th.
In the past nearly 23,000 toys have been collection, totaling to 7 toys per child.
“The most rewarding part of helping these families is to know that we were able to make sure these kids had a Christmas and if it wasn’t for our donors and our partners that would not happen.” Salvation Army Core Officer Major David Phelps said.
You can drop-off new, unwrapped toys at the warehouse on 2310 South Centennial Avenue or the main office at 322 Gayle Avenue.
