AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The city of Augusta has moved to settle the case of an inmate who was tased while in Sheriff’s Office custody.

Back in September, NewsChannel 6 showed video obtained by our Atlanta affiliate WSB.

The video showed Carlos Seals being tased by a deputy while in custody at the Webster Detention Center in 2015.

Seals filed the lawsuit against Deputies Donnie Crawford and Christopher Alexis, as well as the city of Augusta, for use of excessive force.

Commissioners voted 6-to-1 with one abstention to settle the lawsuit for $150-thousand.
