Thomson, Ga. (WJBF Sports) — WJBF Sports has confirmed with Thomson head coach Rob Ridings that the site of the Bulldogs’ 4A state semifinal game has been moved from Jefferson to Thomson.
According to another source, the GHSA determined Jefferson’s stadium did not have the seating capacity necessary to host the game. The GHSA Constitution states that in order to host a 4A state semifinal game, the capacity has to be at least 4,000 seats.
Jefferson originally earned home-field advantage when it won a coin flip late Friday evening.
Thomson will now host Jefferson at The Brickyard at 7:30 p.m. Friday with a trip to the state title on the line.
