City of Grovetown handing out free Christmas bears for children

GROVETOWN, Ga. – The city of Grovetown is bringing Christmas a little early for children.

Mayor Gary Jones says SRP Federal Credit Union teamed up with the Police Benevolent Association to donate the Teddy Bears.

Jones says about 1,000 bears will be handed out to kids Wednesday, December 14 from 2-5pm at Grovetown City Hall.

Children can also get their picture taken with Santa for free, using their parents camera.

“I wanted to give this opportunity for the citizens and anybody else, you don’t have to live in Grovetown to come out. Bring the kids, let me give them a bear and let them get a picture with Santa,” said Mayor Gary Jones.

The Grovetown Police Department also received some of the bears to put in their patrol cars to start handing out to children.
