AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – A local organization is giving the homeless hope this holiday season.
The church also works with other local groups to provide the homeless with hygiene products and essentials to survive.
It all takes place under the overpass of Calhoun Expressway on 15th Street in Downtown Augusta.
“Too many times, especially downtown, they don’t have the clothes to wear,” Pastor Roger Gardner told WJBF NewsChannel 6. “They are not clean, they’re considered really not welcome in a lot of places.”
On December 17th, 2016 the group is doing its annual Christmas meal for the homeless.
They will be handing out gifts to children as well
The event starts at 1 p.m., but volunteers need to show up at 11 a.m.
