AUGUSTA, Ga (WJBF) – With the help of sponsor donations, lunch boxes will be given out to the children at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia in hope that Ella’s continue to live on.
With the holiday season among us, an augusta family shares how lunchbox donations to Children’s Hospital of Georgia can help children from all walks of life understand the meaning of what life is all about. Making a difference through donating is what Ella’s parents wanted to continue after Ella passed away from a brain aneurysm in October.
“They are going to make lunch boxes full of goodies and toys and a bible so they can give back to these children that are here,” Nurse, Erin Hart of Children’s Hospital of Georgia said.
“It really tells you how good people are, that people love and want to be loved and we’re all the same,” Ella’s Dad added.
The hashtag #ForElla has grown through out the Augusta area, and your help can make a difference by sending prayer, love, and green lunch boxes to children #ForElla.
“We believe that ella can be a miracle to so many other kids, and through the hash tag for ella movement we believe we are going to see that become a reality, when Ella became ill, we went to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia and received amazing care, they not only cared for her from a medical stand point but they loved our family, and they loved her.” Ella’s Dad said.
The North Augusta community surrounded the Bumgardener family with the “Go Green For Ella” campaign shortly after her death. Accompanying each lunchbox given out this christmas, a green heart with a card of Ella’s story for hope as a message to never give up and always continue to fight through.
“We believe that ella can be a miracle to so many other kids, and through the hash tag for ella movement we believe we are going to see that become a reality,” Ella’s Dad said.
“She genuinely touched my heart, and even though I never got to hear her talk, and I never got to see her smile, I felt like I knew her and taking care of her, I felt like i was taking care of a family member,” Nurse, Erin Hart of Children’s Hospital of Georgia said.
