AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County coroner has identified the two pedestrians killed in a deadly accident.
28 year old Cory J. Dimmick and 19 year old Michael O’Grady were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say Dimmick and O’Grady were walking in the right through lane of the northbound side of Mike Padgett Highway when a Nissan Maxima traveling northbound struck them.
The two died from Blunt Force Trauma and no autopsies will be done. Investigators say the area was not well lit and it is believed alcohol may have been a contributing factor on the pedestrians.
A Toxicology test for drugs and alcohol will be done.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has announced that the driver in the accident will not face charges.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Richmond County deputies are investigating a deadly accident.
The Sheriff’s Office says it happened at 9:44 p.m. Sunday on the 4600 block of Mike Padgett Highway.
Two pedestrians are confirmed dead in the accident. The coroner will release the victims’ names when family has been notified.
