SC Senators approved the compromise to fix state roads

SOUTH CAROLINA (WJBF) – South Carolina Senators approved the compromise to fix state roads on Tuesday, May 9, 2017

The plan would raise the gas tax by 12 cents a gallon by going up two cents a year for six years.

It includes some tax cuts, credits, and drivers could recoup the extra money paid at the pump through their income tax returns until the phase-in is complete.

The full House is expected to vote on the final bill that day.
