Chief turnaround officer hired to help keep Ga. schools local

GEORGIA (WJBF) – Help is on the way for some of the state’s lowest-performing schools.

The Georgia Board of Education has hired Eric Thomas as its state chief turnaround officer.

The position was created under house bill 338 to help intervene in chronically failing schools and keep them from being taken over by the state.
