The University of South Carolina tries to address the state’s teacher shortage

SOUTH CAROLINA (WJBF) – The University of South Carolina is trying to address the state’s teacher shortage.

The South Carolina Teacher Induction program helps recent graduates tackle the first three years as a new teacher and keeps them in schools.

The goal is to help new teachers enhance their classroom management and teaching skills.

The program’s coordinator says the mentors are there to serve the teacher.
