Authorities: 2 killed in Southern California plane crash

YUCCA VALLEY, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say two people were killed in the crash of a small plane near a Southern California nature preserve.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller says the crash was reported Saturday northwest of the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve in the San Bernardino Mountains.

Miller had no immediate details on the exact location, the type of plane and what time the crash occurred.

The National Transportation Safety Board was investigating the incident but had few details confirmed Saturday night, spokesman Terry Williams told the Riverside Press-Enterprise newspaper (
